I almost have bart

I have finished the 4 weeks guide dog training and now I am waiting til lunchtime monday to finally get bart with me here at home. Then we will do a few days route training and I will have him as mine. this pic was thursday 16th September at guide dogs and it is Bart and me

Almost there

I know it has beena few weeks since I have updated this but I am now in my final week of guide dog training. Yes, I do have a Guide Dog. His name is Bart and he is a big black Labrodor.
I am so glad I am finally here and I will add a pic of us together

Finally.....

Hello readers

Just want you to know I got a call from Guide Dogs an hour ago I get my guide dog 23 Aug

after 3 and a half year

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

the wait continues

here we are July 2010 ns still I await a dog. I do wonder if I am eve on he list as guide dogs claim it is 4 to 6 months wait for a guide dog. With my no specific reuirements for a dog I have been waiting 22 months with no dog in sight.
I will try to talk sense with them, if it is at all possible

Hello blog readers

I am still waiting for the guide dog and who knows how long til I get it. Just think this has been going on now since Jan 2007 since i first sent in my inital lot of paperwork to get a guide dog.
I am hoping to know in just over 2 weeks if I have a July dog otherwise I am looking at Jan 2011 before I can get one

waiting and holding on

Just an update, I am feeling really low today, it has been over 3 years since I first applied for a guide dog when I started to really need one and now 39 months later, I still wait for one. I currentlyhave no idea when I will get it. The Next class starts 10th May 200 but I am not holding my breath
Guide dogs still have no official policy in relation to guide dogs and who gets them or what criteria they use. I guess it is how much pizza the manager has had the previous night or red when he thinks you being a naturally quiet person if you are putting on an act or not.
Then when that proves him wrong he thinks he can think of another reason, rather than looking at the person as a unique individual who has the life he has formed by his own circumstances
I do wonder a lot how many dogs I have missed out on while they played games and yes they were games assessing and thinking I am putting on an actor was on drugs. I will never know. I begain the actual wait in 23rd Oct 2008. Everyone else who was on at that date for a new dog has had onefor a while yet i am waiting.
I jut wish they would get their ideas togetr and I do have a wide options area. I wish they would just fiond me a dog and I would travel interstate to get one if i needed to

The wait

Just to bring you all up to date, I was promised that i would have a lovely dog for christmas. This did not happen, However I was told late oct I did not match, I was again told in Dec I did not have a match. I get old today I again did not match witha dog, the next class after this is may. Too bad i will be at the business enbd of uni fro this class. It is looking like if I am lucky Jan 2011 I maay get a dog. I am not holding my breath though
